Entran was formed in 2005 by Rob Williams and Nick Davey; both held management positions with leading consultancy firms at the time bringing together 30 years of practical experience in Environmental and Transportation consultancy.  The company was formed on the premise of providing the highest quality advice, cost effective solutions and services to suit individual clients' needs.  Since its inception Entran continues to grow but remains true to its founding principles.

Dr. Nick Davey

Nick has over 19 years' experience in environmental consultancy within the private sector. A specialist in air quality and environmental impact assessment, including both detailed modelling, monitoring and appearing as expert witness.

Nick has experience of a wide range of developments including highways, residential, retail, waste and power generation sectors. Nick’s specialist air quality skills are also complemented with EIA project management capability, which allows an in-depth understanding of projects in their entirety.

Nick also has experience in the field of odour impact assessment and Pollution Prevention & Control (PPC) for a wide variety of both large and small scale industrial processes.

Nick has worked extensively throughout the UK and overseas including Europe, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman and Iraq. Nick therefore has in-depth knowledge of the Middle East regulatory framework and has worked extensively in the energy sector within UAE.  Nick has also previously been engaged in environmental capacity building programmes in Eastern Europe.

Rob has over 29 years' experience in transport planning and has operated in both the public and private sector on a wide range of development projects, leading many from conception to completion.

Rob has a particular expertise in the design of innovative traffic and highway engineering solutions for the complete range of development related projects from small scale residential to city and regional master planning projects.  Rob’s skills also include: public and multi-modal transport planning, master planning and junction modelling; feasibility and accessibility reports; cycle and pedestrian planning; transport assessments; Travel plans; construction traffic management plans; expert witness and stakeholder consultation.

Rob has also worked extensively throughout the UK as well as overseas having worked in Hong Kong, Thailand, China, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia and Australia.

Richard Fitter

Richard has over 29 years' experience in a diverse range of highway and transport engineering. His career has centred mostly on Highway and Transport Development Planning in both the public and private sectors. He has experience in devising transport strategies for major town expansion projects, urban regeneration initiatives and speculative mixed-use development schemes. Richard's skills include the preparation of movement strategies, travel plans and transport assessments as well as junction modelling, access design and transport sustainability assessments.  

Richard has a broad range of experience as an expert witness at Local Plan Examinations in Public, Section 78 appeal Public Inquiries and Informal Appeal Hearings.

Richard was also pleased to be approached by the IHE to sit on their Development Management Group, responsible for developing a national training scheme for new Highway Development Management officers, and has spoken a number of times as a private sector representative at the IHE’s “Introduction to Development Management” seminars.

Richard is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Logistics and Transportation (FCILT), a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (FICE) and a Fellow of the Institute of Highway Engineers (FIHE).
