Site trials at TRL

Richard Fitter had an interesting day at the Transport Research Laboratory last week carrying out site trials for a new design of cycle route to bypass bus stops. The trials were commissioned by TfL and involved dozens of cyclists and pedestrians being filmed going through pre-determined manoeuvres to assess their reactions and interactions. The irony is that this 'new' cycle bypass was very similar to one proposed by Entran in 2010 as part of a proposed development in Tower Hamlets, and which was rejected by TfL!
