Garden centre and electric charging roadside uses in North Devon

After a very bumpy six years, and a particularly unusual planning committee, we are delighted that North Devon Council granted planning permission yesterday for a replacement St Johns Garden Centre close to the A39 in Barnstaple. The development includes roadside uses such as a drive-through coffee shop and fuel station that will deliver the first rapid EV charging points in this area.  The highway authority had objected to the scheme, but Entran were able to satisfy the planning authority and committee that the development would not only be safe and suitable but would in fact improve pedestrian and cyclist safety in this area and go a long way to meeting local and national sustainable policy objectives.
