Well done to Camelsdale Primary School who put in a fantastic performance today at the Gathering of the Goblins at the famous Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit. The school's budding engineers built two electric vehicles (Goblins) which made it to the front of the grid for the 'lap of champions'. Both drivers looked the part in their red race suits and Entran crash helmets. A fantastic event (despite the weather), so congratulations to everyone involved.

The number of fixed-penalty charge notices issued by Highways England for non-payments of the Dartford Crossing toll have passed the 350,000 mark in just over four months since the toll booths were scrapped. The toll booths were phased out at the end of November last year, meaning motorists can only pay the crossing fee via a pre-paid Dart Charge account online, or if they pay online, by phone, by text or at a Payzone shop after using the crossing. The Dart Charge system uses automatic number plate recognition technology to track vehicle number plates and then administer a charge, or fine, to that vehicle.

It seems every party has the railways at the heart of their election campaign. In summary:
Cons: 850 miles of electrified railway; start HS2; continue with HS3.
Lab: Cap annual railfare increases; allow public sector rail companies to bid and take over new lines.
Lib Dem: Electrify all suburban and major rail lines; re-open many stations; support urban light-rail.
Greens: Re-nationalise the railways; scrap HS2.
