Permission for Aldi as part of Porthcawl regeneration

Just before Christmas, Aldi received planning permission for a new store in Porthcawl, South Wales, within the Porthcawl Waterfront Regeneration Area. The approved store includes use of local limestone, timber cladding and a wave-shaped roof; the scheme also includes improved public realm, public art by a local artist and highway improvements to promote walking and cycling. This scheme is the first approval within the wider Salt Lake area and will kick start development here which will bring positive impacts to Porthcawl residents and businesses.
